Repair Job

18/06/04
Hopefully I can find the time to track the repair job and the repairer won't mind me visiting and taking pics along the way.

First up was a call to my Insurer, it's all OK and they have sent me a 2 page form to fill out.  I can choose my own repairer which is good too.

Now to find a good repairer.   To participate in the Porsche Club sprint day, I had to become a Competition Member, so I figured these Porsche guys ought to know of a good repair shop, they would be fussy about the quality of repair.  I got a recommendation for a guy that they all seem to use and went visiting. I was impressed with his attention to detail while making the initial assessment of the damage, very rough guess is that it will probably run to $5-6k.

He also put some race tape on the rear light assembly as it was loose and could drop out.  I later added some more tape to hold in part of the rear bar that was flapping around a bit.

I have received 2 quotes, both approximately $10,000 - sheesh!

To be continued....
